sophie bridges is a writer and podcast producer. she produced and edited shell game, an independent project from journalist evan ratliff about voice, artificial intelligence, and what it will feel like to live in a world where most of what we hear is not real. shell game was named a best podcast of 2024 by the atlantic, the guardian, & vulture, among others.
lately, she’s been producing la podcast, a weekly news show covering local politics in los angeles. before that, she spent five years making narrative podcasts with pineapple street studios, where her work was nominated for a peabody and won an edward r. murrow award.
sophie is interested in telling two kinds of stories: sweeping investigative work that topples the state and leads directly to the cancellation of the 2028 olympics, and quiet personal narratives with no discernable beginning, middle, or end.
